The recent public comment period on the Texas Eastern Uniontown Compressor Station included a Fayette County public commentt  demanding that DEP modify the permit for "LDAR" (Leak Detection and Repair) consistent with its weaker form of permitting called GP-5. DEP agreed and modified the permit for LDAR. (This is the third such permit modification I've been able to get.) Texas Eastern is appealing this modification. DEP defines an environmental justice area as "any census tract where 20 percent or more individuals live in poverty, and/or 30 percent or more of the population is minority". (See:
